During the month March we found the coral tree nurseries covered by a lot of algae. Since this obstruct the growth of the corals, the trees needed to be cleaned. We invited some enthusiastic REEF Rangers from REEFolution, a coral reef restoration project in Shimoni, to help us out. Cindy, Mercy and Judy came over to Diani to clean the coral tree nurseries and remove the macro-algae from the branches and fishing lines. After 3 days all 15 coral tree nurseries were cleaned and the 1000 coral fragments could again grow unhindered by algae. Thank you Cindy, Mercy and Judy!
